Hand Bell Choir With Paulette (Boardroom)

You don’t need to be able to read music to make music! Learn to play Suzuki Tone Chimes (very similar to the brass hand bells in churches). It’s a fun, easy way to create music - even if you think you haven’t a musical bone in your body! Come join us!

Clogging With Miranda (Kinsmen)

Come and try out this fabulous and fun form of tap & step dancing! Everyone is welcome no matter how much or how little dance experience you’ve had. We take things slow and dance to all kinds of music styles from bluegrass to pop. This is a terrific aerobic workout intended for all ages. Feel free to wear comfortable clothing and a pair of running shoes or tap shoes if you have.

Zumba Toning with Erin

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). Beginners Walking Group: with Deanna

Low Impact walking program uses more than 90% of your body’s muscles! This is great exercise to strengthening core muscles, upper body and losing weight. Poles are optional for those who wish to have someone to walk with. Poles are provided. Classes consist of warm-up, poling and stretching. Outdoor – appropriate clothing and footwear necessary.

Activator Poles with our certified instructor Pam @ Cowan Park 6 weeks

For those currently not too active or wanting to effectively learn how to use the poles for rehabilitation purpose. The Activator poles were developed for those currently not too active, those recovering from injuries and older adults who require more stability and balance when walking. We will start slowly walking indoor (with the poles) and progress walking outside.

Nordic Pole Walking

(Different levels available)

Nordic Pole Walking is a moderate low impact walking activity suitable for everyone, showing greater and instant health benefits over regular walking. Nordic Walking can be adapted to individual fitness levels. It isn’t just for the fitness enthusiast who wants a high-intensity, total body aerobic workout. Virtually everyone who can walk, and many who have difficulty walking, can go Nordic Walking. This is great exercise to strengthening core muscles, upper body and losing weight. Classes consist of warm-up, poling and stretching. Regular walkers welcome at all levels. Outdoor Fitness – appropriate clothing and footwear necessary. The use of poles will be available for all classes except Trail Walkers.

Advanced Trail Walkers

Prerequisites: Beginners, Intermediate or Advance walking group, Nordic Pole walking and your own poles (if using).

Introduction to Digital Photography (2 hours) Tues, March 27th,  10am to noon

This course includes the use and editing of digital photos. The participants are encouraged to bring their own digital camera and some digital pictures to use in the class. The class will include, transferring pictures to the computer, adjusting brightness, sharpness, size and resolution by working with a photo editing program.

This course will use the popular Photo program from Google, "Picasa" .This course includes: the use and editing of digital photos, making albums and collages . The participants are encouraged to bring their own digital camera and some digital pictures to use in the class.

Skype (2 hours)

Have you heard about Skype? It is the computer program where you can connect with a friend using the computer to see the person and talk with them for free. Skype is for doing things together, whenever you’re apart. Skype’s text, voice and video make it simple to share experiences with the people that matter to you, wherever they are. This course will show you how to put Skype on your computer and how to use its free person to person voice and video pictures features. The computer lab is now equipped with web cams and the programs. So sign up if you are interested in learning more. ( If you have your own favorite headphone that you use with your computer or music system bring it along to use in the class.)

Introduction to PowerPoint.. (2 hours)

Have you ever wished you could prepare and show some of your pictures in a dynamic Computer Program such as PowerPoint?

We have all seen excellent presentations using PowerPoint. This course will teach you the basic concepts in making a PowerPoint Presentation. If you have a disk of pictures bring them to the class to use. If you do not have pictures or even an idea of how you might use PowerPoint--- just sign up to learn more about this important Computer tool.

This course is designed for those just beginning to research their family history or those looking to upgrade basic research skills.
